In 2011, the Renewable Energy Exhibition celebrates its 10th birthday!
Born in Lyon and driven by the pioneers who invested and believed in the development of renewable energy, the Exhibition contributed to the growth of each sector right from the start.
The market has changed substantially over the past ten years. But the distance travelled is in some ways tiny in comparison with the ground still to be covered to reach the 2020 targets: increasing the proportion of energy consumed from renewable sources to 23%! In meeting this challenge each sector has a role to play and each technology will make its contribution. What is currently only at an experimental stage could demonstrate considerable potential in the years to come. The decisions taken at the Grenelle environment forum have paved the way for strong sustainable growth that will create jobs in both energy production and the improvement of building energy efficiency. Our entire society must “enter the post-fossil fuel world!”
